From The Mountains To The Sea

Make the most of your Italian holiday experience – an opportunity to experience the uniqueness that is Italy, two very different, yet personal visits to opposite ends of this enchanting country.

Stay with us, David and Winnifred, at Cherry House in Italy BnB in the Appennine Modenese, an hour from the elegant city of Modena in the region of Emilia Romagna. Savour the crisp, clear mountain air, the mountain foods and local wines. Then travel to the warmth of Puglia in the far south of Italy to stay with Valentina, at her late grandfather’s house, Casa dell’ Arte Veglia, in Salento, near the sea and the beautiful capital city of Lecce. Each location offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in distinctly different aspects of Italy, its local history, culture, foods and wines.

Located in the small town of Polinago, facing majestic Mt Cimone, Cherry House BnB offers a relaxed and quiet location with the opportunity to hike ancient paths, take leisurely walks along quiet country roads; learn about the recently discovered mummies of Roccapelago, or walk over the monolith bridge in the middle of a chestnut woods.

On the other hand, Casa dell’Arte Veglie is a lovely family home located in Veglie which is in the heart of the Salento area, providing an opportunity to visit it’s capital, the baroque city of Lecce, and other towns such as Otranto and the beaches of Gallipoli and the stunning Ionian coast; or take time out to learn the basic steps of the Salento Pizzica – a dance of courtship.

Cherry House BnB

has three double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and a communal lounge, dining, kitchen area and large garden and is within a short walk to the centre of the town of Polinago. It is possible to accommodate singles or couples as a BnB or if you prefer, it is possible to accommodate up to 7 people staying as a self-catering group. There is a large garden terrace with BBQ area as well as an ample garden area with fruit trees.  Plenty of off-street parking is available.

Casa Dell’Arte Veglia

offers 4 double bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, 2 dining rooms, a living room and kitchen with access to a large terrace and it is possible to have 9 people to stay. The house, whose late owner was the artist and art critic Umberto Zaccaria, is filled with many wonderful works of art by Italian artists of the 19th and 20th century. The self-catering accommodation can accommodate a group of 9, a party of 4, or a couple. Taking advantage of the warm weather, there are two terraces for outdoor eating along with a large garden with BBQ and hammocks. Secure off-street parking is also provided.

Both locations are best enjoyed using your own transport but if you prefer not to drive in Italy, we would be pleased to provide a quote for an organised tour encompassing a visit to either/or both places, including visits to major of places of interest.
